Editing code without leaving FLY8HT

The Editor tab is a real code editor built into FLY8HT. It uses the same editing engine as VS Code and is ideal for a quick look or a small change without switching apps.

What’s there

• A real file tree, reading your project’s own files directly (large folders like node_modules are excluded).
• Multi-tab editing: open several files at once, each with its own unsaved-changes indicator.
• Real syntax highlighting, a minimap, and bracket-pair colorization for dozens of languages.
• Cmd/Ctrl+S saves the active file straight to disk.

Closing a tab with unsaved changes always asks first, so nothing is silently discarded.

Handing off to a real IDE

FLY8HT detects whether you have VS Code or Cursor installed (Settings → Development lets you pick one explicitly, or leave it on auto-detect). Click the external-link icon next to Save to open the exact file you’re looking at, at your current cursor line, in the real desktop app, or click the same icon next to the file tree’s header to open the whole project.

What it’s not

This is a real, useful editor for a quick edit, not a full IDE. There’s no debugging, no extensions, no integrated terminal, and no AI features. For serious, sustained work, use the “Open in Editor” button above and reach for the real thing.
