Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of our Terms of Service and applies to anyone using the FLY8HT desktop application or the fly8ht.app website.

1. What you agree not to do

You agree not to:

• Use FLY8HT to build, run, or distribute anything illegal, or to violate the rights of others, including intellectual property rights in the repositories you point it at.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent any security or license mechanism of the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Use the website’s sign-in system to impersonate another person, create an account under false pretenses, or gain unauthorized access to any account or system.
• Interfere with or disrupt the website, the desktop app’s update mechanism, or the infrastructure they run on, including attempting to overload, scrape at scale, or probe either for vulnerabilities without our explicit authorization.
• Use FLY8HT as a tool to mass-clone, scrape, or otherwise abuse GitHub’s own service in a way that violates GitHub’s Terms of Service. FLY8HT clones repositories on your behalf, using your own network connection, and you’re responsible for how you use it.
• Redistribute FLY8HT itself (the compiled application) under a different name, or in a way that implies it’s your own product. See our Trademark Guidelines for what’s actually permitted.

2. Your responsibility for what you build

FLY8HT builds and runs code from repositories you choose. It has no way to know whether a given repository is safe, legitimate, or licensed for your intended use. You’re responsible for what you point FLY8HT at and what you do with the result.

3. Enforcement

A violation of this AUP related to the website (for example, abusing the sign-in system) may result in suspension or termination of your website account, per our Terms of Service. Since the desktop app requires no account, this AUP is otherwise a statement of what’s acceptable, not something we can technically enforce against local use of the app itself.

4. Reporting a violation

If you believe someone is misusing FLY8HT or its branding, contact us at support@fly8ht.app.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. If we make a material change, we’ll update the version and effective date above.
