Requirements
What FLY8HT uses on your machine.
FLY8HT never installs these for you. It detects what you have and tells you precisely what's missing.
Git
FLY8HT uses your system's git to clone. Not needed for local folders.
Node.js
Checked against the project's .nvmrc, .node-version or engines field, and you're warned on a mismatch.
yarn · pnpm · bun
FLY8HT tells you which one is missing and links the official installer. Pinned yarn versions run via Corepack.
Docker
Isolates builds in a container and runs Dockerfile-based projects. Without it, builds run as a confined local process.
VS Code or Cursor
Detected automatically for Open in Editor. The built-in editor works without either.
More on build isolation in Docker and isolation.
Maintenance
Updates, your data, and uninstalling.
Updating
FLY8HT checks for updates after launch and every few hours, downloads them in the background, and installs only when you click Restart Now. Check any time from Settings → General → Check for Updates.
Where your data lives
Projects, builds, settings and encrypted variables are in one local SQLite database:
- macOS · ~/Library/Application Support/flyght
- Windows · %APPDATA%\flyght
- Linux · ~/.config/flyght
Uninstalling
Delete the app, then delete the data folder to remove everything. Local-folder projects are never stored inside it, so removing FLY8HT never touches your own folders.
