Terms of Service
The agreement covering the FLY8HT desktop app and fly8ht.app: what FLY8HT is, your responsibilities, and our limits.
Version 1.1 · Effective September 14, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the FLY8HT desktop application and the fly8ht.app website (together, “FLY8HT” or the “Service”). By downloading, installing, or using FLY8HT, or by creating an account on this site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
These Terms work together with our Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Statement, Cookie Statement, and Trademark Guidelines (together, the “Agreement”).
1. What FLY8HT is
FLY8HT is a local-first desktop application. You point it at a public GitHub repository (or a folder on your own computer), and it clones, detects, builds, and runs that project entirely on your own machine. FLY8HT does not host, run, or store your projects, code, or build output on any server we operate.
2. No account required to use the app
You can download and use the FLY8HT desktop application without creating an account. Signing in on this website (via Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or email) is entirely optional and only establishes an identity for this website. It does not sync, upload, or back up any project, build, or file from the desktop app, since none of that ever leaves your computer to begin with.
3. Acceptable use
Using FLY8HT means agreeing to our Acceptable Use Policy, which covers things like not using the Service for anything illegal and not attempting to circumvent its security mechanisms.
4. Third-party repositories and content
FLY8HT clones and builds code from GitHub repositories you point it at. That code, and any license or terms attached to it, belongs to its own authors. FLY8HT is a tool for running it locally and takes no ownership of, and no responsibility for, third-party code, content, or repositories.
5. Intellectual property
The FLY8HT name, logo, and this website’s own content are owned by the FLY8HT project. See our Trademark Guidelines for how you can (and can’t) refer to or use them. Using the Service doesn’t grant you any rights to that branding beyond what’s needed to use the Service itself.
6. No warranty
FLY8HT is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including, without limitation, any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular repository will build or run successfully. You use it at your own risk.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FLY8HT and its author(s) won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including damage to your own machine, environment, or projects from anything FLY8HT builds or runs locally.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we’ll update the version and effective date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate a website account at any time, for any reason, without notice. This only affects your ability to sign in to fly8ht.app, never your ability to keep using the desktop app itself, which requires no account at all.
