This page covers cookies on the fly8ht.app website. The FLY8HT desktop application isn’t a browser and doesn’t use cookies at all. Everything below applies only to this site.

1. What we actually use

The only cookies this site sets are the ones Clerk (our sign-in provider) needs to keep you signed in once you choose to sign in, such as a session token and a short-lived client identifier. These are strictly necessary: without them, signing in wouldn’t work at all, since there’d be no way for the site to remember you between page loads.

2. What we don’t use

No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels, and no analytics cookies (this site doesn’t run Google Analytics or similar). We’re not building a profile of you across sites, and we have nothing to sell your browsing behavior to.

3. Why there’s no cookie banner

Cookie consent laws (like the EU’s ePrivacy rules) generally require a consent banner only for non-essential cookies, such as analytics, advertising, or tracking. Since every cookie this site sets is strictly necessary for a feature you explicitly chose to use (signing in), it doesn’t need a consent popup to disclose it honestly instead, which is what this page does.

4. Managing cookies yourself

You can block or delete cookies through your browser’s own settings at any time. Doing so on fly8ht.app will simply sign you out (or prevent signing in). It has no effect on the desktop app, which doesn’t use cookies or depend on a website session at all.

5. Changes to this statement

If what we use ever changes (for example, if we add analytics in the future), we’ll update this page (and add a real consent banner first, if that ever becomes legally required).
